Sandy Singers, our Executive Director of 19 years is retiring May 17, 2019. We welcome our new Executive Director, a long standing board member Dan Irwin to the Partners in Mission Food Bank team!

UPDATE:We are thrilled to announce that our current total for this year’s “Blitz” collection was $4,507 and just over 38,000 lbs. of food. We will continue to count donations through to the end of the month as we normally do, so these numbers will increase.

The Give 30 program encourages people to donate money saved during Ramadan fasting (May 6 , 2019 - June 14, 2019, donations accepted until Aug.31, 2019). This is a grass roots volunteer-run initiative in its 6th year in Kingston, 7th year nationally.

Loblaw Companies Limited Spring Food Drive starts at Kingston Loblaw's and NoFrill stores April 4th - April 18th.

20th Anniversary of the Spring Hope Food Drive is coming up on Wednesday April 16th! Several Kingston and area apartment buildings participate in this non perishable food drive. Canvassers will go door-to-door early that evening collecting donations.

Walmart's national goal with this year's "Fight Hunger Spark Change" initiative is to raise enough food and monetary donations providing the equivalent to 13 million meals AND a donation of one million dollars to Food Banks Canada!

As I plan for my retirement next year, this as it turns out, will be my last Christmas letter. I have been writing these letters for about 20 of my 25 years with the food bank in the hope that by letting the community know what we are doing and how great the need is for emergency food relief, it will remind our donors that we need their support.
